Publisher numbers versus baptised witnesses.

i grew up as a witness, and left about 10 years ago, i'm currently researching witness numbers for a project i'm working on, and i can't seem to get an accurate number of baptised witnesses - hardly a surprise!

from their website it looks like they list the number of publishers instead of the number of baptised witnesses, so it totally works to obscure how many actual witnesses there are, apart from the fact it's morally dubious to class a publisher as a minister of god as they refer to publishers on their uk section of the site.

i also am trying to work out how many leave every year, even approximate figures would be great, from their own website it just looks like they try to massage figures to make them look as favourable as possible.

Many a JW are backsliding when it comes to meeting attendance alone. The number of those opting to stay home and call in on their phones is on the rise. And why are more & more missing meetings...cause of the sheer boredom of these midweek and weekend gatherings. So if the rank & file are showing a cooling-off trend it stands to reason that outsiders will pickup the negative vibes and not bother with the stupidity of this cult as well.

The only growth you're seeing, peacefulpete, is from babies and toddlers of JW parents.

WT boasts having + or - 120,000 congregations worldwide. I would venture a guess that up to 5 on average per congregation fade & become seriously inactive annually! That's roughly 600,000 per year. This is the current trend. That number may seem high to some...don't forget that the number of congregation mergers & Kingdom Hall sell-off is also high and risen!

Add in the fact that there are next to zero new outside converts to replace those that are on the fade.

Bottom line...there is a sizable exodus currently taking place among the JW rank and file not to mention the large number of JWs dealing with cognitive dissonance...Yay!👍

1. I'm a 5 when it comes to honesty...I really don't mind being dishonest...falls under the category of Theocratic Warfare which I've learned from leadership of WT.

2. When it comes to humble...I'm a 5. Again I've learned from the leadership of JWs of how to be an arrogant asshole when I want to be!

3. I'm a 10 when it comes to being optimistic. I'm very optimistic that WT has some very dark days ahead!

4. I'm a 10 when it comes to being happy. I'm extremely happy being in my PIMO state of mind...I'll be even happier once I'm totally out of this cult!

possibly being replaced by a borg streaming presentation that's required viewing from home?

it seems to me that with the congregation merging and sell-off that's going on, there are going to be 4 maybe 5 congregations sharing some khs.

Hundreds of thousands if not millions live and hope this cult floods over and drowns sooner than later...preferably in our lifetime due to the harm, damage, destruction and death it has caused!

Is The Governing Body Underestimating The Volume Of Those Waking Up?

I don't think so...there are too many factors that signal to them that indeed they are in for some difficult years ahead. This cult is dealing with too many emergency-like situations to think otherwise. The pedophile/child molester dilemma is not going away any time soon. There is the forever problem of very low meeting attendance on the part of baptized rank and file...add to that the very low number of new outside converts. The list is endless of predicaments this organization is dealing with to think they aren't worried about their own future. What we here on this forum need to do is sit tight...be patient...there are too many cracks in the dam's wall of this cult...there are only soo many "winters" this organization can deal with before it floods over!
